Trial Prep: Sniff and Go!

We know how important (and fun!) it is to practice Nose Work in new and unique locations. Whether or not you are trialing, going to a new location to work hides that are blind to you, the handler, is an amazing learning opportunity for your team. We are so excited that Summit Dog Training is making their space available to us for this Sniff & Go event!

You will be assigned a time slot a few days before the event, so please let us know if you are unavailable during any portion of the event and we will try to accommodate.

Teams will have the opportunity to work all four NACSW trial elements, Interiors, Exteriors, Vehicles, and Containers. Each search will be run like a trial, with a judge, a time limit, and level appropriate information. You will receive feedback from the judges on each search, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions as time allows. These searches will be designed to help less experienced teams gain exposure to novel search areas. There will be some searches with multiple hides, but they will be set at an NW2 level, with clarity and odor availability in mind to help teams gain confidence in a trial-like setting. Teams do not need to be competing to participate, but they should be working all three odors (Birch, Anise, Clove) and have been exposed to multiple hides.
