About the event

This 2-part workshop focuses on building smart trialing skills for NW1, NW2, NW3, and Elite teams! Dorothy Turley, a senior staff member with the NACSW, will not only talk about what you can expect in the higher levels of Nose Work competition, but will give Working Teams expert coaching and input to build your and your dog's skills both individually and as a team.

There will be 2 sets of Working Spots, with NW1 & NW2 teams working in the morning and NW3 & Elite teams working in the afternoon. Please double check your ticket before completing your registration. If you get into a Working Spot for your trialing level, you will also have an auditor spot for the other half of the workshop at no additional cost. Auditor tickets give you access to the entire workshop!

Learn more about your instructor:

Dorothy wears many hats with the NACSW organization including Supervising/Elite Certifying Official, member of their CO Education Team, National Trial Coordinator, Trial Representative, and Score Room Lead. She also hosts NACSW trials, ORTS, and she is a frequent instructor at Nose Work® Camp.

In early 2010, Dorothy attended her first K9 Nose Work® seminar with Ron Gaunt. She was hooked. She knew this was a great activity that she wanted to share it with her clients. She began her Nose Work journey with her car- and dog-reactive dog, Zoey, and never looked back. She had no plans to compete with this particular “problem” dog, so she was thrilled when Zoey, her very first Nose Work dog, not only earned her NW1 title but also took first place! Dorothy had the honor of attending the National Invitational in November of 2017 with  Zoey. She is currently trialing with her Chihuahua mix, Brigette, at the Elite level and lives with her husband and 2 dogs in Rochester, Washington.

Dorothy teaches classes, private lessons, and hosts educational seminars and workshops. She traveled as the working assistant to Kathy Sdao, MS, CAAB (Bright Spot Dog Training), attended multiple sessions of Bob Bailey's "Chicken Camp", and also graduated from the Dogs of Course Instructor training. She is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), and a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI). She is passionate about continuing her education, and does so by attending seminars, instuctor courses, and workshops. Over the years she has also volunteered and worked at her local shelters and various rescue groups.
