Do something fun with your doG!

K9 Nose Work is a highly accessible activity where you and your dog learn how to search for and find specific odors. Unlike the professional dogs who are looking for narcotics or explosives, K9 Nose Work is all about fun!

  • Dogs get to explore their incredible scenting abilities

  • There are no pre-requisites to start teaching your dog Nose Work, it’s great for dogs of all ages, and because dogs work individually in class, reactive dogs are welcome

  • Your dog will come home from class satisfied and tired

  • We welcome everyone who wants to learn about this activity, whether you just want to have fun with your dog, or you are interested in competing in K9 Nose Work Trials

How to get started -

  1. Join our Intro to Nose Work drop-ins, which are included in our Community Unleashed membership, or can be purchased individually for non-members. In Intro to Nose Work, dogs will be introduced to the concept of searching with their favorite food treat.

  2. After attending Intro to Nose Work for approximately 8-10 sessions, your dog will be introduced to the target odors - birch, anise, and clove essential oils.

  3. Once introduced to the target odors, teams will move on to our Masters of Scent drop-in classes, where we learn from the real masters, our dogs! We will focus on exposing the dogs to new search skills, and improving our handling.

"I love that they can work with any dog, no matter its temperament or breed, and that they have so many options for fun and opening up that 'conversation' with your dog."
- Kathy

"We are thriving in this community, and recommend it to anyone who will listen. Even if your dog is pretty well behaved, there is so much to learn and do."

- Heidi

"I feel like we’ve both gained not just practical tools/skills, but confidence in ourselves and each other."

- Stacey and Mike
